Empowering Local Business
Attract & Retain Small & Medium Sized Businesses
Support Local Entrepreneurs
Strengthen Community
Morinville has a real opportunity to position itself as a destination for small businesses and start-ups, especially as more people look to build and invest outside of big cities in this post-pandemic era. My focus will be on attracting and retaining small and medium-sized businesses through fair tax policies and reviewing revitalization incentives that make Morinville competitive.
The residents I’ve spoken with have made it clear—they want to support local. To do that, we need to give our local businesses the tools and advantages they need to thrive against the big-box retailers just south of us. By creating a stronger environment for local entrepreneurs, we can keep jobs, investment, and community spirit right here in Morinville.
Keeping Taxes Balanced
Fair & Transparent Taxation
Responsible Budgeting
Competitive & Growth Focused Policies
Taxes in Morinville must strike the right balance between fairness for families and businesses, and providing the services that keep our community strong. I believe our residents deserve transparency and predictability in how tax dollars are collected and spent.
While we cannot avoid the rising costs of essential services and infrastructure, we can commit to responsible budgeting that prioritizes needs over wants. I will work to ensure residential taxes remain competitive with surrounding municipalities, while reviewing non-residential and vacant property tax policies to encourage growth, reduce the burden on homeowners, and keep Morinville an attractive place to live, work, and invest.
Investing in Parks & Public Spaces
Year-Round Public Spaces
Targeted Community Beautification
Trail System Connectivity
Great communities are built around great public spaces. Morinville’s parks, trails, and green spaces are more than amenities—they are places where families connect, neighbours meet, and our quality of life grows stronger.
I am committed to enhancing our existing parks and boulevards, ensuring they are accessible and usable in every season. By focusing on areas throughout the community, while also improving our trail network and main streets, we can create spaces that people are proud to use year-round.
Smart, targeted investments in recreation and beautification will pay off in many ways: healthier lifestyles, stronger community ties, higher property values, cleaner air and water, and a more welcoming community for both residents and businesses.
Connecting with Residents
Annual Town Hall Forum
Stronger Community Connection
Open & Responsible Leadership
Strong communities are built on open dialogue and trust. That’s why I am proposing an annual town hall with council and administration, where residents can share ideas, raise concerns, and hear directly how decisions are being made at Town Hall.
This forum would provide a transparent and accessible space to discuss priorities and upcoming projects, while ensuring every voice has the opportunity to be heard. By making this an annual commitment, we can strengthen accountability, foster collaboration, and create a culture where council and residents work together to shape Morinville’s future.
